How much does it cost to use Scotia Mobile Banking?

Scotia Mobile Banking is a free service available to customers enrolled in Scotia OnLine Banking. However, some services may have an associated fee e.g. transfers to customers that have an account at another Financial Institution1; also, data charges from your wireless provider may apply when browsing the web on your phone.
 

What are the requirements to access Scotia Mobile Banking?

In order to access Scotia Mobile Banking, you must be a registered Scotia OnLine user. You must also have an Internet-enabled mobile device and wireless service.
 

Is Scotia Mobile Banking compatible with all mobile phones?

How do I access Scotia Mobile Banking?

To access Scotia Mobile Banking, type www.scotiamobile.com/bs com in your mobile browser. Then enter your ScotiaCard Visa Debit / Scotiabank credit card number and password, just as you would when you login to Scotia OnLine.
 

How do I enrol in Scotia Mobile Banking?

In order to access Scotia Mobile Banking, you must be enrolled in Scotia OnLine. If you currently have Scotia OnLine, you are ready to use Scotia Mobile Banking immediately. Don’t have a Scotia OnLine account? Register now.
 

Why am I being asked to enable JavaScript on my BlackBerry?

JavaScript is used by most websites to improve the web navigation experience. You must enable your phone to accept JavaScript in order to use Scotia Mobile Banking.

How to use Scotia Mobile Banking

How do I view my account information through Scotia Mobile Banking?

In order to access your account information, login to your Scotia Mobile Banking account, then:

  1. Click ‘Accounts’
  2. Click on the account you would like to view
  3. Click on a specific transaction to view the details

How do I pay a bill through Scotia Mobile Banking?

In order to pay a bill via Scotia Mobile Banking, login to your Scotia Mobile Banking account, then:

  1. Click ‘Bill Payment’
  2. Click the account you would like to pay from
  3. Click the payee you would like to make a payment to
  4. Enter the bill payment amount
  5. Click ‘Submit’
  6. Click ‘Confirm’

How do I transfer funds via Scotia Mobile Banking?

In order to transfer funds via Scotia Mobile Banking, please login to your Scotia Mobile Banking account then:

  1. Click ‘Funds Transfer’
  2. Click on the account you would like to transfer funds from
  3. Click on the account you would like to transfer funds to
  4. Enter the transfer amount
  5. Click ‘Submit’ and review the details
  6. Click ‘Confirm’

How do I transfer funds to another Scotiabank customer or to customers at another Financial Institution via Scotia Mobile Banking?

In order to transfer funds to another Scotiabank customer via Scotia Mobile Banking, please login to your Scotia Mobile Banking account, and then:

  1. Click on ‘Funds Transfer’
  2. Click on the account you would like to transfer funds from
  3. Click on the ‘Third Party Transfer’ link listed under the accounts in the ‘Transfer to’
  4. Select the recipient, if has not been added yet, then select ‘Add Recipient.’
  5. Enter the transfer amount
  6. Click ‘Continue,’ and review the details
  7. Click ‘Confirm’

 

Can I transfer funds between accounts of different currencies with Scotia Mobile Banking?

No, at this time you can only transfer funds between same currency accounts.

Can I use my browser's ‘Back’ button?

Yes, but please make sure that you are not in the middle of submitting a transaction.

Can I access my commercial accounts through Scotia Mobile Banking?

No. At this time it is not possible to access commercial accounts using Scotia Mobile Banking.

Is Scotia Mobile Banking secure?

What are safe practices Scotiabank recommends for using Scotia Mobile Banking?

While Scotiabank takes strong measures to ensure the security of your financial transactions and the confidentiality of your information, you play the most important role. We recommend that you secure your device with a password and that you do not store your banking passwords on your mobile phone. Can someone access my Scotia Mobile Banking accounts if I lose my phone?

No, your information is safe because a password is required to login to Scotia Mobile Banking. Please contact your mobile carrier immediately if your phone has been lost or stolen.

Scotia Mobile App

How much does it cost to use the app and its services?
The Scotiabank Caribbean App is free to all smartphone users. All of the services available through the App are also free with the exception of transfers to customers that have an account at another Financial Institution1. However please check with your wireless provider about any charges that may apply when using the Internet on your phone.

How do you use the app?
Just tap on the different icons with your finger. Tap on the ‘Banking’ icon and you will access our Scotia Mobile Banking site, where you can do your personal banking from the convenience of your mobile phone. Tap ‘Find Us’ to search through our extensive network of branches and ATMs in the Caribbean.

Do I need an Internet connection to use the app?
For some functions. You can search through our network of branches and ATMs, see their addresses, contact info, hours of operation and more without an Internet connection; but you wont be able to see them on a map. If you have a GPS-enabled phone, you can also search for our branches and ATMs based in your location. You can enjoy the rest of the app functionality even if you’re off-line.

Can I use the app when I’m travelling?
Yes. All you have to do is switch countries by tapping on the country link.

Does the app include the same services as Scotia Mobile Banking?
Yes. You can use the app to pay bills, check your account details, transfer money between your Scotiabank accounts, to other Scotiabank customers or to customers that have an account at another Financial Institution- just like with Scotia Mobile Banking.
