Scotiabank opened a branch in Nassau, Bahamas in 1956. In the early 1960s, three more branches were opened in Nassau and one in Freeport, and two additional branches were added in the late 1960s. Scotiabank Bahamas was incorporated in 1998 with its Registered Office at Rawson Square.

Today, Scotiabank in The Bahamas has about 700 employees, 69 ATMs, and 19 branches, offering retail and commercial services, including electronic cash management services, plus a dedicated mortgage centre and a Private Banking Centre.
