Scotiabank Mastercard holders to enjoy fast-track access to CARIFTA Games

New Providence, The Bahamas – April 5, 2023 - Just days ahead of the staging of the 50th CARIFTA Games, Scotiabank has announced that Mastercard credit cardholders from across the Caribbean region will receive fast-tracked access to the Thomas A Robinson National and Track and Field Stadium for the duration of the Games scheduled from April 8-10.

Na-amah Barker, Director, Retail Banking explained that the special benefit is made possible through a partnership between Scotiabank and its credit card partners via their Mastercard Gold and Aero Platinum products.

“All our Scotiabank Mastercard Gold and Aero Platinum Cardholders will benefit from special access arrangements when they visit the stadium from Saturday to Monday to enjoy the best of Caribbean youth athletics on display right here in The Bahamas,” Barker said.

“ Excitement is at fever pitch and as sponsors, we will also have other special surprises as we work with the local organizing committee to make the Games a truly special experience ,” she hinted. During the Games, the Bank will also allow fans to send messages of encouragement to their favorite athletes and teams as they showcase their athletic talents for the world to see.

Pointing to the rationale for the Bank’s support, Barker said “We are honoured and extremely proud to be able to make a contribution to the development of our young Caribbean athletes in this way and also to join with Bahamians everywhere to celebrate our 50th anniversary of Independence by highlighting our rich legacy in track and field.”

In February, Scotiabank signed on as the Gold Elite sponsor for the 50th staging of the CARIFTA Games, with a contribution of US $100,000 towards the execution of the much-anticipated championships. One of the largest sports sponsorships for the Bank since the global pandemic, the contribution further cements Scotiabank’s longstanding support for youth development initiatives. Scotiabank is also committed to providing opportunities for all Bahamians to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.
