Update to local wire
payment process
effective February 23
As part of the adoption of ISO 20022 Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) standards, the Central Bank of Bahamas requires that all local transactions of BSD $1,000,000 or more must be processed using RTGS.
Currently, these transactions are completed using the Wire Payment Service tab from drop-down option on the client portal / menu in your Scotia OnLine for Business.
Effective February 23, 2026, please select the RTGS tab from the drop-down list when initiating transfers exceeding BSD $1,000,000. Please note, that all other steps to complete a payment in the online portal will remain unchanged, so you can continue to enjoy the same seamless experience.
